STRENGTH OF MEMBERSHIP   VFDA is recognized by lawmakers, regulators, the public, and the media as the authority on heating fuel issues.  Our members provide heating fuel or heating service to 3 out of every 4 homes in Vermont.

STAY INFORMED  The VFDA Fuel Line Newsletter is distributed by email and fax to more than 1000 heating industry professionals every Friday morning. It provides practical, up-to-the minute information that members depend on to run their businesses.

VFDA Online  VFDA’s website is the go-to source for Vermonters to learn about heating fuel. More than 1000 visitors check out every month. VFDA member dealers receive free advertising on the Find a Fuel Dealer page. Members that provide heating service are listed on the Find a Heating Technician page. In addition, all VFDA members can be found in our annual member directory.

PMAA  VFDA is a member of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA), a federation of 48 state and regional trade associations representing more than 8000 small business petroleum marketers. PMAA provides VFDA members with critical representation in Washington, D.C. along with important regulatory compliance information.

REGULATORY ASSISTANCE   Heating fuel companies are some of the most regulated “unregulated” businesses — especially in Vermont. From Act 210 to  CP-111, fuel dealers are regulated differently in Vermont. That’s why VFDA is constantly updating our members only, password protected, Keys to Compliance website where you can access vital information on a variety of issues important to fuel marketers, including pre-buy contracts, fuel assistance, propane regulations, fuel taxes, and tank rules.

DRUG & ALCOHOL TESTING If you have a CDL or employ someone who does, you must be in a testing program. Both the employer and employee may be subject to criminal and civil penalties for non-compliance. VFDA's program (more information here) makes compliance with federal law easy on your budget and schedule.

FINGERPRINT CENTER   VFDA operates a TSA Fingerprinting Center to make it easier for oilheat and propane delivery drivers to get their hazmat endorsement on their CDL.
